Target/Specific Area:
- Lightning Experience Transition: Critical Update and Transition Tools
In Winter ’20, we’re turning on Lightning Experience for all orgs. So take advantage of the time now to prepare your org and users. We’ve got just what you need for the job with the new Lightning Experience Transition Assistant and its collection of handy transition tools. - Lightning Experience Adoption: In-App Guidance and Help Menu
Add custom prompts to onboard and train users, highlight configuration changes and news, introduce new features, and more. Know that you’re seeing content that’s relevant to your workspace with enhancements to the Help Menu. - Keep Record Context When Switching from Salesforce Classic to Lightning Experience
When you switch from Salesforce Classic to Lightning Experience, you land on the same page in Lightning Experience, if it exists. If the same page doesn’t exist in Lightning Experience, you are redirected to your default landing page, which is determined by the org default or your customizations. - Access Lightning Experience from Safari on iPad Devices (Beta)
Give your users the ability to run the full desktop version of Lightning Experience on their iPad device when they’re away from their desktop or laptop. - Power Up Your Related Lists with Enhanced Related Lists (Beta)
Take your related lists to the next level. With Enhanced Related Lists, you can show up to 10 columns, resize and sort your columns, perform mass actions, and wrap text. - Zoom Through Related Lists with Quick Filters
Use quick filters in your related lists to find the data that you’re looking for. Related list quick filters are different from regular list view filters in that they aren’t saved, persist only throughout your current session, and can’t be shared. - Search Picklist Fields in List Views
You don’t have to manually pick through your list views to find the picklist values you’re looking for. List view search now includes picklists in your query results. Dependent picklists and picklists with translated values aren’t searchable. - Lightning Scheduler: Inbound Appointment Scheduling, Event Management, Action Plans, and More
Schedule inbound appointments with Lightning Scheduler’s self-service interface embedded in a website or via Communities. Manage calendar availability with Event Management. Plus, Lightning Scheduler now partners with Action Plans and Salesforce Surveys. - Salesforce Surveys: Free Sending, Customized Email Invitations, and an Improved User Experience
Create surveys and send invitations for free, then pay based on the number of responses you receive after the free allotment. Send personalized email invitations to participants. Enhance the user experience with an increased character limit for questions, response choices, and participant comments. It’s also easier for participants to work with surveys on mobile devices. - Lightning Console Apps: Right-Aligned Utility Items and New API
Utility items are now right-aligned, and a new API method tells you when a utility is popped out. - Search: Search Results That Reflect How You Navigate and More Details About Your Search Results
Search results prioritize what’s in an app’s navigation bar, so searching is more relevant to the way your users work. On the search results page, see how many results were found for each object. Also, more objects are searchable. - See More in Item Menus on the Navigation Bar
We increased the number of recent items shown in item menus from three to five. We also made some styling enhancements, including bold section names and separators, to make it easier to tell the different sections apart. - Assign Custom Colors to Hyperlinks
Complete the look and feel of your company’s theming and branding in Lightning Experience by defining a hyperlink color. - Themes and Branding Accessibility Label Improvements
To improve the usability of the Themes and Branding setup screen, we updated the label Accessible Brand Color to Accessibility Override. We also changed the checkbox label from Override to Override accessible brand color. And we updated the Accessibility Override tooltip. - The Lightning Experience Header Is Hidden When You Print from Your Browser
All you want is what’s on the page. The Lightning Experience header, including the search box and navigation bar, is no longer included when you print from your browser. - View Records Using Full View (Beta)
Now you have two record page view default options. Choose between the current view—now called Grouped view—and the new Full view. Full view displays all details and related lists on the same page. If you’re transitioning to Lightning Experience, this view is similar to Salesforce Classic. - Set Org Defaults for How Activities Display on Record Pages
Control how your users view activities on record pages. Set the default view to the newer expandable activity timeline, or choose the activities related lists view that will feel familiar to Salesforce Classic users. Users can switch between options whenever they want. - Rich Text Editors Get an Upgrade
Rich text editors that are using CKEditor have been upgraded to CKEditor version 4.11.2. - Disable Popup Blocker in Chrome
When you open a link to an external URL from your org, a modal asks for your permission. This precaution is necessary to prevent the new tab from accessing the original window’s location via the browser history. The modal is new for Chrome users. Safari and Firefox users have seen it for a while. You can disable the popup for your browser.
